Keith Ward writes a philosophers view on religion in the defence to many commentators today claiming that religion is dangerous and harmful.

Keith addressed such issues in this book by defining what religion really is and why so many believe religion to be dangerous. Keith looks at why people say religion is dangerous, focuses his argument on religious wars and conflicts - on specific attacks on religion including claims that: God is wrathful, religious morality is primitive and cruel and that religion id intolerant.

Keith Ward argues that religion is not dangerous in other ways
outside of religious wars as it produces great good - for example religion has helped many people's lives and countries, it has created hospitals, philosophy and science, moral heroism, great art and music and the abolition of slavery. Keith concludes that religion is the best rational basis for morality.
