- Use within two years of purchase to maintain quality.
Setting Up:
- Ensure the candle is firmly secured in an upright position on a stable surface.
Wick Preparation:
- Check that the wick is not twisted and stands upright before lighting.
- Trim the wick to approximately 1/2 inch if needed.
Lighting the Candle:
- Use a proper lighting taper or method, avoiding matches or paper that might leave debris.
Relighting:
- Ensure the wax pool is clear of foreign materials before relighting.
- Maintain the wick’s original shape to avoid uneven burning.
Handling Large Flames:
- If a flame becomes unusually large, extinguish it safely.
- Allow the wax to cool before trimming the wick and relighting.
Extinguishing:
- Use a candle snuffer to avoid splashing wax and protect the wick.
- Never blow directly onto the molten wax pool.
Avoiding Guttering:
- Guttering can be caused by drafts or uneven surfaces.
- Use appropriate holders or caps to minimize this risk.
Wax Removal:
- Use hot water to remove wax from metal, glass, or ceramic holders.
Safe Placement:
- Ensure at least two feet of clearance above the candle when burning in confined spaces.
Safety:
- Always burn candles correctly and in a safe, supervised environment.
- Never leave burning candles unattended.
